Thankful for Gideon’s placing a Bible in my hospital room. Thankful for a neighborhood hospital with great doctors and nurses and aides to take care of me in my emergency appendectomy. Thankful for my gentle and smart husband who got me to where I needed to be and is coming to take me home now and take care of my recovery from here on. Most of all, thankful for the tender watch care of my God who guides our steps and brings us through our trials with his peace and love.
Oh, and the dear chaplain who came by to visit. He was about 80 years old and a little frail looking with very arthritic hands. When he offered to pray for me, I responded, yes please, I would like that very much! He then got down on his knees on that hard hospital floor beside my bed, took my hand, and prayed the simplest, most humble prayer. We both had tears in our eyes when he finished. I was thankful for that.
It is well with my soul! Hopefully my body will follow shortly! 😜.
